SAMBA, May 11: The Department of Youth Services and Sports Samba organized Inter School Tournaments for Kho-Kho, Kabbaddi, Volleyball and Badminton, here.
The two days tournament for the boys was divided into two categories of Under-14 and Under-17. More than 400 boys from Vijaypur Zone participated in the event that was organized under the supervision of Vijay Singh Salathia, Zonal Physical Educational Officer, Vijaypur.
In the Badminton Singles (U-17 Boys), MV International School defeated Jyoti Public School by 2 – 0, whereas Badminton Doubles event was won by Govt. High Secondary School, Vijaypur by 2-0.
In Kho-Kho (U-17 Boys), BBN High School, Vijaypur gave tough competition and won from the Boys of Praveen Model Higher Secondary School, Vijaypur. Final match of Kabbaddi (U-17 Boys) was held between Bhargava Public School Samba and Jyoti Public Higher Secondary School, Vijaypur. The Boys of Bhargava Public School won the event easily. In Volleyball (U-17 Boys) MV International School defeated Jyoti Public School by 7 points.
In the U-14 ‘Badminton Singles’ Fauji Public School Patti got better of Govt. Middle School Gudwal, while in ‘Badminton Doubles’, MV International School emerged as the winners.
In Kabaddi, NJ.J School Sangwal thrashed Bhargava Public School Samba by 21 points.
In Kho-Kho, Govt. Middle School Ranjari defeated Parveen Model School by 2 points, while Volleyball (U-14 Boys) event was bagged by BBN High School, Vijaypur by 2 points.
Sunil Kumar, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Samba Gourav Abrol, Director MVIS and KL Dogra, Principal MVIS witnessed the finals of the events.
Meanwhile, Zone Hiranagar emerged Champion in Kho- Kho Under-14 girls and Zone Bani lifted the title of Kabaddi Under-14 girls Tournament in the Inter Zone District Level Tournament organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Kathua, under the supervision of DYSSO Kathua, Subash Chander Bhardwaj at Sports Stadium Kathua.
A total of 215 players of all 12 zones of Kathua participated on third day of tournament.
Meanwhile, Zone Kathua and Zone Sallan remained runners-up in Kabaddi and Kho- Kho respectively.
In Kho-Kho Under-14 girls final, Zone Hiranagar defeated Zone Sallan by a solitary point.
Earlier, in the semifinals , Sallan outplayed Kathua by 2 points and Hiranagar prevailed over Lakhanpur by 1 point.
In Kabaddi Under-14 girls final, Bani crushed Kathua by 14 points. In the semifinals earlier, Zone Kathua outplayed Zone Bhaddu by 18 points, while Bani defeated Hiranagar by 7 points.
Two days tournament under the age group of 14 years for boys and girls started at Govt. BHSS Sunderbani.
Principal BHSS Sunderbani, Ravinder Khajuria was the chief guest on the opening ceremony, who inaugurated the tournament in the presence of Zonal Physical Education Officer Sunderbani, Jaswant Singh and Zonal Physical Education Officer Hathal, Romesh Sharma.
At Sunderbani Zone in Volleyball, HS Dhok Kangri beat MS Sarmoli, while in Kabaddi MS Sunderbani got better of MS Kalideh and in Kho-Kho Tanda Kangri trounced MS Suffa
At Hathal Zone in Volleyball MS Bandhrai prevailed over MS Upper Hathal, while in Kabaddi MS Bandhrai outplayed MS Marcholla and in Kho- Kho LHS Ballshama drubbed MS Mawa.
The Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Samba organized Inter School District Level Roll-Ball Tournament at Humanity Public School, Bassi Kalan for Under-14 and Under-17 boys and girls under the supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Samba, Sunil Kumar.
In Under-17 girls final, Bhargava Public School defeated Mahavir International Vijaypur by 6 points, while in Under-14 girls final, Baba Balak Nath School Vijaypur outplayed Little Angels School Vijaypur a in a close contest by 1 point.
In Under-17 boys final, Baba Balak Nath School trounced Little Angles School Vijaypur by 2 points, while in Under-14 boys final Baba Balak Nath School lost to Little Angles School Vijaypur by 3 points.
An Inter School Tournament was today organized here at Government Higher Secondary School Mehalla wherein over one hundred students drawn from various schools of Gundana Zone participated.
Organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, the event witnessed Kabaddi and Kho-Kho competitions of boys and girls in the age groups of U/14 and U/17.
Zonal Physical Education Officer Gundana, Chain Singh supervised the event.
The tournament was inaugurated by the Principal Government Boys Higher Secondary School Mehalla in which around 105 boys and girls participated.
In Boys category U/17 Kabaddi match, HSS Boys Jathali beat HS Khankoot by 09 points. In Kho-Kho HSS Boys Mehalla defeated HS Khankoot by 02 points.
In Girls category U/14 Kho-Kho, Govt. Middle School Dongroo beat Middle School Battal by 03 points. In boys category U/14 Kho-Kho Boys Middle School Battal beat HSS Mehalla by 03 points.
Meanwhile a similar Zonal Level Inter School Tournament was held in Ghat Zone by Department of Youth Services and Sports today, under the guidance of District Youth Service and Sports Officer Doda, Ashoke Kotwal and Zonal Physical Education Officer Ghat, Mool Raj Uttam.
Over 200 students participated of various schools participated in the tournament which was declared open by the Principal HSS Ghat, Shahida Khan.
