Zonal Level Inter-School tourney concludes

LEH, June 4: The Zonal Level Inter-School Tournament for Middle Schools (Boys & Girls) of the Khaltse zone concluded today at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Khaltse. The tournament was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Leh and saw the participation of 250 students from various Government and private middle schools.
Incharge SDM Khaltse, Asgar Ali, attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest, while Tashi Angchok, Incharge Principal of GHSS Khaltse, was the guest of honour. Other dignitaries present included Naib Tehsildar Temisgam, Mohd Iqbal, Ex-Councillor Tsering Murup and Headmaster GMS Saspol, Lobzang Zotpa.
SDM Asgar Ali emphasized the importance of sports in personality development and teamwork, encouraging students to participate actively in co-curricular activities. He noted that zonal-level winners will progress to district, state, and national competitions. Students competed in Archery, Handball, Volleyball and track events including the 100m and 3000m races. In the final Handball match, Lamdon Jamyang School Khaltse defeated Lotsawa Lamdon School Temisgam (11–05).
