Zonal-Level inter school tourney commences

LEH, June 2: The zonal-level inter-school tournament for Middle Schools in Khaltse zone began at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Khaltse, here today, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Leh.
Principal Tsewang Paljor, the chief guest, inaugurated the event and stressed the significance of sports in holistic education. He encouraged students to actively engage in such competitions to build discipline, teamwork, and physical fitness. Stanzin Phelgais, Incharge DYSS Leh, provided an overview of the games scheduled throughout the tournament. The event features participation from 22 Government and Private Middle Schools, with over 250 students competing in various sports.
The opening handball match saw Lotsawa Lamdon School Temisgam defeat Government Middle School Khaltse with a score of 10-05. DYSS officials, GHSS Khaltse staff and Physical Education Teachers from across the zone were present, marking a strong start to the sporting event.
