BHADERWAH, May 6: The Department of Youth Services & Sports, Zone Bhaderwah, inaugurated the zonal level inter-school tournament for U-14 and U-17 boys and girls at Government Higher Secondary School (Boys) Bhaderwah.
ADC Doda Anil Thakur was the chief guest while Tehsildar Bhaderwah Kamalpreet Singh was the guest of honour on the occasion. The event was held under the supervision of DYSSO Doda Pritam Singh and ZPEO Vijay Kotwal. Also present were Principal GHSS Boys Bhaderwah Kapoor Singh, NCC Commandant Arif Rana, REKs, NYCs, and sports enthusiasts.
The tournament features Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Badminton, Athletics, Volleyball, Carrom, Chess, Football, Yoga, and Tug of War. On Day 1, GHSS Boys Bhaderwah won in U-17 Kabaddi, while GGHSS Bhaderwah triumphed in Girls’ U-14 Kho-Kho.
Tehsildar Kamalpreet Singh declared the tournament open, highlighting the role of sports in youth development. ADC Anil Thakur encouraged students to adopt physical activities for overall personality growth.
