POONCH, May 27: The Zonal Level Inter-School Tournament under the Surankote zone commenced today at Seri Khawaja with great enthusiasm and student participation. MLA Surankote Choudhary Muhammad Akram graced the opening ceremony as the chief guest, while District Youth Services & Sports Officer Mohammed Qasim attended as the guest of honour.
The tournament is being held under the supervision of Muzaffar Ahmed Khawaja, Incharge Zonal Physical Officer, Surankote, with full support from the Department of Youth Services and Sports, including PELs, PEMs, Physical Teachers, REKs Teachers and NYCs. Pervaiz Ahmed Rek, Physical Teacher, is the venue incharge. The entire staff worked with dedication to ensure the event’s smooth conduct.
On the first day, 770 girls under the U-14 and U-17 categories participated in various games with zeal, discipline, and sportsmanship. The sports events included volleyball (80 participants), Kabaddi (160), Kho-Kho (334), Badminton (30), Chess (20) and Athletics (146).
