JAMMU, May 2: Defeating Sittu Club by seven goals to five via tie-breaker, Young Star Simbal Camp (YSSC) sailed into the finals in the 2nd Maharaja Ranjit Singh Gold Cup Hockey Tournament at High School, Simbal Camp, near here today.
Now, in the title clash, YSSC will lock horns with Zorawar Club, which has already made it to the finals.
In the semifinals played today, YSSC defeated Sittu Club by (7-5) in a close contest via tie-breaker.
In the stipulated time, the match ended in a (3-3) draw with YSSC scoring goals through Dilbagh Singh, Satwant Singh and Jaspreet Singh in 15th, 28th and 36th minute, while Surjit Singh, Pushvinder Singh and Rabinder Singh scored for Sittu Club in 24th, 47th and 55th minute.
Meanwhile, in tie-breaker, Young Star scored 4 goals through Jaspreet, Randeep, Ranjit and Dilbagh, while Prabjot and Surjit netted it for Sittu Club.
The matches were officiated by Manjeet Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Gurpal Singh and Captain Manjeet Singh, under the supervision of Charanjeet Singh, organizing secretary.
