SRINAGAR, Nov 1: J&K Bank finally emerged the champions of the State’s J&K Bank and Khyber Big Premier Football League 2015, here today.
Formidable J&K Bank team defeated the strong J&K Forest XI in the title clash of the Super Division League by (2-0) goals at Synthetic Turf Football Stadium, here.
Adnan scored the first goal for the winners in the 4th minute of the match, while Zubair pelted the second goal in 10th minute of the second half.
The win at the Synthetic Turf Stadium kept J&K Bank XI in the lead at the top of the League Table with 9 points, Lone Star KFC earned 2nd place with 4 points.
Dr Haseeb A Draboo, Minister for Finance, Labour & Employment and Culture was the chief guest on the valedictory function, while Javaid Ahmad Shah, Secretary J&K State Sports Council, Zameer A Thukur, president JKFA and other members of JKFA were also present on the occasion.
The chief guest distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams on the occasion.
The tournament was organized by J&K Football Association (DFA Srinagar) and Amblin Events, while the event was supported by Khyber Cements, J&K Bank, 92.7Big FM, Aryns Group Of Colleges, LIC of India, HK Cements, CP Advertiser, Posh Enterprises, Share Khan, Green End Corp.
Earlier, defeating Young Iqbal Football Club via tie-breaker in the summit clash, Young Lal Chowk Football Club lifted the title trophy of the ‘A’ Division Football League 2015.
Young Lal Chowk defeated Young Iqbal FC via tie-breaker by (3-0) as both the teams scored one goal each in the stipulated time.
The contest between J&K Bank XI and J&K Forest XI was always considered to be the tight one, and it was felt that the team which held its nerves better will be the winner. Finally, J&K Bank team held its nerves in the crunch situation to emrge winners.
