JAMMU, Feb 14: Ten days Yog Shiver was inaugurated today by Bharatiya Yog Sansthan Jammu at its Gole Gujral Ashram, here wherein nearly 150 volunteers of Bharatiya Yog Sanshtan are participating.
Prof Manoj Kumar Dhar, Vice Chancellor University of Jammu University was the chief guest. The event started with Sarswati Vandhana, followed by ‘Deep Prajwalan’.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said that the Yog is the cultural heritage of this nation and it need to be popularized and practised throughout the length and breadth of the country. He thanked the Sansthan for promoting Yoga for over the 50 years.
He informed that the University of Jammu recently include Yoga as a discipline in the syllabus of B.Ed courses. He was happy to note that the Sansthan is coming out with a quarterly magazine titled ‘Yog Manjari’ with articles on yog and health both in English and Hindi. The VC also suggested that the Sansthan should also think on publishing article in Dogri language.
President of the Sansthan, Satya Pal Sharma also spoke on the occasion.
