JAMMU, Apr 9: The Department of Mechanical Engineering of Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology (YCET) organized webinar on ‘CATIA Software’ in collaboration with CADD Centre Jammu for Mechanical Engineering students, here today.
The webinar started with the formal welcome address by Er Neeraj Pandita, HoD Mechanical Engineering Department, followed by Vipin Singh, Corporate trainer who delivered addressed on the topic.
Delivering lecture on the topic, the resource person highlighted that the CATIA is a multi-platform software suite for Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM), Computer Aided Engineering (CAE), PLM and 3D which was developed by French Company Dassault Systems.
It facilitates collaborative engineering through an integrated cloud service and has to be used across disciplines including surfacing and shape design, electrical, fluid and electronic system design, mechanical engineering and systems engineering, he added.
Later, Er KR Sharma thanked Anjali Chopra, Head CADD Centre Jammu and Vipin Singh for organizing the webinar on CATIA.
