Yawer, Murugan shine as J&K crushes Assam by 142 runs

JAMMU, Dec 26: Yawer Hassan’s masterclass century and Murugan Ashwin’s lethal bowling led Jammu & Kashmir to a comprehensive 142-run victory over Assam in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy at Niranjan Shah Stadium, Rajkot.
Batting first, J&K posted a massive 341 for 7 in 50 overs. Yawer Hassan shone with a brilliant 138, including 13 fours and 4 sixes. Other notable contributions came from Qamran Iqbal (55), Shubham Khajuria (39), Rydham Sharma (35) and Abdul Samad (24). For Assam, Denish Dass and Ayushman Malakar took 2 wickets each.
In response, Assam were bundled out for 199. Murugan Ashwin spun a web around the Assam batting lineup, taking 5 wickets, while Yudhvir Singh claimed 2. Abid Mushtaq, Lone Nasir Muzaffar and Abdul Samad picked up a wicket each. Yawer Hassan was named Player of the Match for his stellar innings.
