Women’s Bike expedition flagged off from Jammu

JAMMU, July 18: A women-led bike expedition titled “MY Bharat Bikers Expedition” was flagged off today from Balidan Stambh, Jammu, to Kargil, in honour of Kargil Vijay Diwas. The event pays tribute to the valiant soldiers of Operation Vijay (1999) and Operation Sindoor (2024).
A contingent of 26 female bikers from the Shakti Udghosh Foundation is participating in the expedition. The rally was flagged off in the presence of Shagun Parihar, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Kishtwar; Nisar Ahmed Butt, State Director, MY Bharat J&K; and Colonel M.S. Maan, Deputy Commander.
Nisar Ahmed appreciated the Shakti Udghosh Foundation, stating that such initiatives engage youth in nation-building and strengthen patriotic values. He assured full support to the bikers during the entire route and announced that a Mega Padyatra will be organised on July 26 in Drass, with thousands of youth participants.
Preeti Choudhary, the group leader of the bikers, said the rally is a symbolic tribute to the brave hearts of the Indian Armed Forces. She credited MY Bharat, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, for mobilising youth across the route.
Nitin Hangloo, District Youth Officer (MY Bharat Jammu), emphasized that such events are powerful tributes to the sacrifices of India’s soldiers and encourage civic responsibility among the youth.
A painting competition was also held, where MY Bharat volunteers showcased patriotic themes through their art. The Indian Army provided crucial logistical support, and the event was efficiently managed by Anmol APA and the volunteers of MY Bharat Jammu.
