KISHTWAR, May 15: Organized by RPHQ Batote under its civic action program, a Volleyball tourney concluded, here today.
SSP Kishtwar Abdul Qayoom was chief guest on the occasion, who was accompanied by the officers of police/ civil administration of the district.
Various teams from district Kishtwar participated in the Tournament. The final match was played between Drabshalla-A and Drabshalla, in which Drabshalla-A won the final match by 2 sets out of 3 sets, and was awarded with cash rewards and mementos.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Kishtwar on behalf of DIG DKR stated that such type of sporting events to connect with the youth under the banner of various ongoing welfare programmes of Police Department will be continued.
He said it’s the collective responsibility of parents, civil society members and police to organize such type of events and provide platforms to keep the younger generation away from the scourge of drug addiction, anti-social/anti-national acts. He said this type of sporting activity is constructive engagements with the youth to make society a better place for the younger generation and to explore their hidden talents.
