BARAMULLA, Dec 1: Sopore Police organised a Volleyball Championship at Khushal Sports Stadium, Sopore here today under the Civic Action Programme, with eight teams from different areas of the district participating. The event was attended by ADC Sopore, Joint Director Education Baramulla, members of civil society, educationists and trade associations, who appreciated the initiative and encouraged the youth.
During the inaugural ceremony, SSP Sopore Iftkhar Talib congratulated the teams and urged players to channel their energy through sports, emphasizing discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship. The opening match was played between Krankshivan Volleyball Club and Khelo India Volleyball Club.
The championship aims to promote peace, brotherhood and constructive engagement among youth, while discouraging drug abuse. Sopore Police said such initiatives will continue to strengthen community relations and foster a strong sporting culture in the district.
