JAMMU, Apr 11: Encouraging students in J&K to put on their thinking caps, Vodafone J&K circle today organized the ‘Vodafone Quiz Contest’ for students of Govt. College for Women, Parade in the College Campus, here.
The Contest saw participating students engage in a battle of brains to emerge as the smartest amongst their peers. Based on a screening test organized earlier by the college, 6 teams comprising of two participants each were shortlisted for the Vodafone Quiz Contest. The 6 teams were tested on their knowledge, awareness and quick thinking ability as they competed across 4 engaging rounds.
The first two rounds of the Contest tested the teams on their knowledge about both past and present with round one comprising questions on History of J&K and round two challenging them to reveal how up to date they were on the Current Affairs. The round four was a surprise round with a mix bag of questions on no particular category.
Pushpinder S Gujral, Business Head J&K, Punjab and HP, Vodafone India shared his views on the occasion.
On the occasion, Vodafone also organized a ‘Vodafone Free Service Camp’ for college students in the college. At the service camp, Vodafone executives happily answered queries of the students and helped in resolving issues related to the handset or service provider.
Out of the six participating teams, the Vodafone Quiz Contest saw the team of Muqbeen Khan and Surbhi Badyal emerging as winners. The winning team was awarded certificate of merit and Vodafone goodies by Dr. Renu Goswamy, Principal, Government College for Women, Parade, who was the chief guest on the occasion.
She was accompanied in the felicitation ceremony by officials from Vodafone and Dr Jyotsna Mohan, Dean Academics, Government College for Women, Parade Ground, Jammu. The other participating teams were handed certificate of participation to acknowledge their effort.
