JAMMU, Mar 11: The VC Cricket Rolling Trophy tournament began today at the JKCA Ground, GGM Science College, Jammu, with six teams participating-VC XI, GGM Science College Team, MAM College Team, College of Education Team, GCW Gandhinagar and SPMR College of Commerce. The teams comprise teaching, non-teaching, and other employees.
Ankur Mahajan, Registrar of Cluster University of Jammu, was the chief guest. The bouquet was presented by Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Physical Education and Sports, during the inauguration.
In the opening match, VC XI defeated College of Education by three wickets. College of Education scored 75 for 7 in 20 overs, while VC XI chased the target, scoring 76 with 7 wickets down.
In the second match, GGM Science College posted 208 for 8 in 20 overs, with Gourav unbeaten on 54, Lokinder 34, and Rajesh 27. M.A.M College managed 144 for 7, with Ajay Manhas 26, Vikram 23, and Surjeet Singh 29. Rahul Kait of GGM Science College took 3 wickets.
Among the dignitaries present were Prof. Twinkel Suri (DAA), Prof. Ranvijay Singh (Controller Examination), Dr. D.S. Manhas (DSW), Prof. Sunil Gupta (SPMR College), Prof. Ramesh Gupta (GGM Science College) and Prof. Vishal Sharma (Dean of Social Sciences).
