Varinder among 7 SAI coaches promoted to grade-I

JAMMU, July 28: Cricket coach Varinder Kumar Sharma is among seven coaches of the Sports Authority of India posted in Jammu and Kashmir who have been promoted as grade-I coaches in the pay scale of 15600-39100 with the grade pay of 6600 retrospectively from 2008.
Those promoted included Sudesh Kumar (Handball), Devraj (Handball), Varinder Kumar Sharma (Cricket), RK Magotra (Basketball), Amarjit Singh (Basketball), Veena Sharma (Cricket) and Gurmeet Kaur (Hockey).
A communication in this regard was received by the SAI coordinator J&K MK Verma the previous day. “411 coaches have been promoted by the SAI of which these 7 are posted in the State” Verma informed.
Suchmita Sen, Regional Director SAI (North Zone) who was on two day visit to the State to assess the progress on infrastructure development in J&K has congratulated the promoted coaches and called upon them to work harder and produce better results from the State at national and international level.
