JAMMU, July 29: Unique Public School Gadigarh defeated Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar by (2-0) sets to win the title trophy of the Under-19 Girls Tug of War in the ongoing Inter School District Level competitions of Jammu District on Day-7, here today.
The Inter School District Level competitions in the disciplines of Tug of War, Football, Taekwondo and Basketball are being organised by the Department of Youth Services & Sports District Jammu under the patronage of Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director General, Youth Services & Sports J&K and under the chairmanship of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports Jammu, while Chanchal Kour, District Youth Services & Sports Officer Jammu is the Organising Secretary of the competitions.
Meanwhile, in Tug of War Under-19 Boys final, Govt Boys HSS RS Pura beat Jammu Sanskriti School by 2-0 sets
The matches were officiated by Ravinder Singh, Vishal Malhotra, Dinesh Kumar and Hardev Singh.
In Football Under-17 Boys at GGM Science College, BSF Paloura beat GD Goenka by (1-0), DPS outplayed KB School by 3-0 and Heritage Public School defeated SOS by 1-0.
In Taekwondo U-19 Boys at Indoor complex MA Stadium, the gold medal winners in different categories included Ankur Bargav of Green Wood School, Amandeep of Adarsh Niketan, Syed Mohd of National Institute, Syed Mohd of KV Sunjwan, Ajay Kumar of Green Wood, Aftab Hussain of National Institute, Mohit Thakur of KV Sunjwan, Narayan Sharma of Mother India and Atul Manhas of APS Domana.
In Basketball Under-19 Boys final at GGM Science College, Birla Open Mind beat DPS by 31-28, while in Basketball Under-19 Girls final, JMPS defeated Carmel Convent by 20-15.
