JAMMU, Mar 20: DFA Udhampur defeated NGR Football Club via sudden-death by eight goals to seven (8-7) in the State Football Championship which got underway at GGM Science College Football ground, here today.
Earlier, the match ended with (1-1) in the stipulated time, but District Udhampur prevailed over the rivals in sudden-death.
In the allotted time, Tushar Sharma was the goal scorer for Udhampur, who netted it in 54th minute, while NGR scored the goal in the 70th minute to equalize the score.
The match was officiated by Suresh Gupta, Rakesh Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Ricky and Mohinder Kalsi.
Ajet Angral, Principal GGM Science College was the chief guest on the opening ceremony, while prominent among others present on the occasion were R K Kohi, Sheikh Mehmood, SM Gill, S Kuldeep Singh, Mohan Lal, David Masih, Yousuf Don, Virinder Gupta, Charan Dass, Bharat Bhushan, Rajesh Sumbria, Romesh Chander and Narinder Gupta.
