Udhampur District Softball C’ship commences

UDHAMPUR, Oct 8: The District Udhampur Softball Championship 2025-26 was inaugurated at Subhash Stadium, here today, organized by the District Udhampur Softball Association in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, under the aegis of J&K Softball Association.
Sandeep Bhat (Additional SP, Udhampur) was the chief guest, while Ramesh Chandra Mishra (District Youth Services & Sports Officer) presided as guest of honour. The championship saw participation of 240 athletes from various registered clubs and schools across the district, competing in Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior categories for both boys/girls and men/women.
The chief guest praised the efforts of Gulshan Begum, Secretary of the District Association, for providing a competitive platform to rural talent. Rawat Singh, Chairperson Umpiring Commission, along with Jasbir Singh, Ajay Singh, Anshu Khanna, Jatin Singh and Jasvinder Singh, provided technical support.
Twelve matches were played on the opening day. The event is sponsored by the J&K Sports Council.
