KATRA, Dec 24: Udhampur District Indian Style Wrestling Championship was organized by Udhampur District Indian Style Wrestling Association under the aegis of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the banner of J&K State Sports Council, which concluded at Raghunath Pura, here today.
The championship was held under the overall supervision of Sunil Badyal, President Udhampur District Indian Style Wrestling Association and Om Parkash Verma, General Secretary Udhampur District Indian Style Wrestling Association.
Thirty five wrestlers from Tehsil and Akhara participated in six weight categories of 46 Kg, 50 Kg, 55 Kg, 61 Kg, 67 Kg, and 85 Kg in the said championship.
Overall championship went to Udhampur Tehsil with 21 points.
Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council Shiv Kumar Sharma who is also Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association and Associate Vice-President Wrestling Federation of India was the chief guest on the occasion who presented Medals, Certificates to the winner and runner-up Wrestlers.
Manager Subash Stadium Udhampur Satish Chopra and General Secretary J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Bansi Lal Tidyal were the guests of honour.
Director Competition, NIS Wrestling Coach Mulk Raj Sharma conducted the proceeding of the programme, while vote of thanks was presented by Bansi Lal Tidyal. The bouts were officiated by Tulinder Kumar, Laxhman Singh Katoch, Virender Sharma, Lochan Singh and Sukhvir Singh, BSF Coach.
