Tomar shines in Grand Wrestling Championship

New Delhi, Nov 23:
Olympian grappler Rajeev Tomar got the better of Pala Pehalwan of Punjab in the Grand Wrestling Championship, held at the National Sports Club of India (NSCI) here today.
As many as 26 matches took place today at the event.
On the occasion, top Olympic medallists of the country – badminton player Saina Nehwal, wrestlers Sushil Kumar and Yogeshwar Dutt, boxers Vijender Singh and Mary Kom — were awarded membership of NSCI.
Union Home Minister Rajanth Singh, Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Wrestling Federation of India president Raj Singh distributed the prizes to the grapplers, who won their respective bouts today.
Rajnath Singh and Sonowal congratulated Chairman of the Organising Committee Ashok Aggarwal, NSCI Regional Secretary Govind Rohatgi and Organising Committee Joint Secretary Gaurav Sharma for hosting such a big event successfully. (PTI)
