JAMMU, Jan 21: The University of Jammu has achieved a remarkable milestone with its women’s weightlifting team qualifying for the prestigious All India Inter-University Weightlifting (Women) Championship 2024-25 (AllUWC). This achievement underscores the university’s commitment to fostering sporting talent at the national level.
The team, which participated in the North-East Inter-University (Women) Championship 2024-25 at Lovely Professional University, Punjab, was led by six talented weightlifters: Priya Mehra, Riya Kumari, Maseeba Kouser, Ekam Kour, Vanshika, and Koushki. They were meticulously trained by Ravi Singh, the weightlifting coach, whose efforts were pivotal to their success.
Among the six participants, Maseeba Kouser, Ekam Kour and Koushki excelled and qualified for the All India Inter-University Weightlifting (Women) Championship. Their dedication, perseverance and exceptional performances have brought pride to the University of Jammu.
