JAMMU, Jan 21: Rajinder Singh Tara, Director General, Youth Services and Sports J&K, visited Khel Gaon in Nagrota today to assess the progress of developmental works at the venue. Accompanied by Sunil Kumar Sharma, Accounts Officer of the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports, and other senior officers, Tara inspected the ongoing construction of various facilities at this multipurpose sports venue, which is the first of its kind owned by the Department.
Tara reviewed the construction of the Hockey Turf, Synthetic Athletic Track, Cycle Track, and Multipurpose Hall, all of which are progressing well. He instructed the concerned authorities to complete the works at the earliest, emphasizing the importance of timely completion to meet the needs of sportspersons in the region.
Present during the visit were Executive Engineer Sanjeev Sharma, AEE Gautam Raina, JE Kunal, and Incharge Khel Gaon Vishal Bharti Slathia, who assured Tara that the construction would be completed on schedule.
Tara reiterated that Khel Gaon is a valuable asset for the Department and its development into a sporting hub is crucial for enhancing sports infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir.
