Tangmarg cricketer signs with ISPL’s Bengaluru strikers

SRINAGAR, Dec 11: A young cricketer from Tangmarg in north Kashmir, Shahid Mir, has brought pride to Kashmir after being signed by the Bengaluru Strikers for Rs 3 lakh in the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL).
Shahid’s selection has sparked widespread celebration across the region, with locals, sports enthusiasts, and community leaders praising his dedication, consistent performances, and hard work. Many see his achievement as a morale boost for aspiring cricketers in Tangmarg and neighboring areas, encouraging young players to pursue the sport with renewed commitment. “This is the first league that takes players from the streets to a bigger stage. I am really happy to get selected,” Shahid told reporters.
He urged the local youth to stay away from drugs and channel their energy into sports. “They should hit the ground, work hard, and success will follow,” he said.
Alongside cricket, Shahid is also a practicing advocate. However, he said the sport remains his priority as he works towards advancing his cricketing career.
