Talib wins 96th Ramkote Kesri Dangal title

KATHUA, June 19: The 96th edition of the historic Ramkote Kesri Dangal was held at Ramkote, Kathua, drawing thousands of enthusiastic spectators. In the final and most anticipated bout, Talib Baba Fly triumphed over Jhonti Gujjar Akhada, claiming the prestigious title. He received a cash prize of Rs 2,50,000, presented by Chief Guest Satish Sharma (MLA Billawar) and Gushu Malasia, who sponsored Rs 2,00,000. Director Tourism Vikas Gupta, BDC Abay Khajuria, and others were also present.
The second major bout saw Shanveer Kohli defeat Shera Baba Fly for a Rs 2,00,000 prize. Jalal Iran emerged victorious in the third bout against Binia, bagging Rs 1,50,000. The fourth key match featured Parveen Chahar, who defeated Vikrant Haryana. Wrestler Shota Ravan entertained the crowd with his unique and impressive wrestling style.
Pehlwans from across India participated in the day-long event, which featured 55 bouts. Matches not settled were decided by points. Key organizers included Rajesh Gupta (President), Pardeep Khajuria, Rocky Mehra, Rajinder Kumar, Raju, Virinder Kumar, Satish Kharka, Sanjay Khajuria, Anil Kumar, Vishal Raina, Prathit Vikas, Chinu Mehra, Kailash Sharma, Ajay Kumar, Dharminder Gupta, Vinod Spolia, and youth volunteers of Ramkot.
