JAMMU, May 15: Minister for Medical Education and Youth Services and Sports, Taj Mohi-ud-Din flagged off an awareness walk aimed at acquainting the people on global warming, female foeticide and drug abuse, here today.
The walk from Jammu to Coimbatore is being undertaken by Ashutosh Sharma, an enterprising youth with missionary zeal, in collaboration with Department of Youth Services and Sports, Jammu.
This is the third awareness walk by Sharma, who is on a continued odyssey of motivating the people about judicious use of available resources besides raising awareness about very easy ways to save the society from social evils like female foeticide and drug abuse.
“Love your nature, preserve it for posterity”, is his slogan.
During this walk, Sharma will cover the whole distance from the temple city to Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu on foot and will distribute literature on the subject.
The Minister assured him all support in this noble cause saying that it is the endeavor of present Government to encourage such events in the State. “Such endeavours do not only inspire individuals but can make a big change in the society”, he added.
