Taekwondo, judo, gymnastics, fencing, yoga & squay competitions commence

JAMMU, May 30: The District Level Inter-School competitions in the age groups of Under-14 and Under-17 girls in the disciplines of taekwondo, judo, gymnastics, fencing, yoga and squay got underway at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today.
The competitions are being held under the chairmanship of Ved Parkash, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu and under the overall supervision of Tirath Ram, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu.
Earlier, in yoga Under-14 girls, Simran Bhat, Tanya Saini, Anushuka Koul, Kajol Sharma, Pallvi Sharma and Muskan Saini were the winners, while in yoga Under-17 girls, Muskan Rajput, Diksha Vaid, Nandita Gupta, Diksha Jamwal, Sadhamni Vaid, Reea Sagar and Hashita Sharma were the winners.
In taekwondo Under-14 girls, Mansi Dubey, Dhawni Pandita, Komal Dhiman and Apporva Jamwal claimed gold medals, while in taekwondo Under-17 girls, the gold medals went to Palak Sawhney, Ambreen Fatima, Sadika Charak, Narmita Katoch and Simran Bhat.
The competitions were also held in gymnastics, judo, squay and fencing.
