Symposium, painting competition held

JAMMU, Sept 17: The Department of Environment and Remote Sensing organized  symposium and painting competition on the eve of World Oze Layer Day at Vishwa Bharti Higher Secondary School, Akalpur, here today.
The objective of the programme was to create awareness among the students about protecting atmosphere for generations to come.
Ravi Kesar, additional CCF was the chief guest on the occasion, who inaugurated the programme by lighting the traditional lamp, while Sushil Sharma, Environment Soil Conservator was the guest of honour.
Earlier, School Principal BMS Pathania presented welcome address, while Ranu Koul later-on presented vote of thanks.
In painting competition, Nidhi from 5th class bagged first place, while Abshishek of the same got second place and the third place went to Sandeep of 4th class. The consolation prize was given to Veer Partap of class 3rd.
Meanwhile, in symposium, Amisha Nehra of 8th class, Aarti od 12th and Shubam Pandita of 12th bagged first, second and third place respectively, while Sumedha Maju of class 8th bagged consolation prize.
