JAMMU, Oct 20: Surinder Cricket Club claimed victory in the KPL Veteran Cup-19, held at the KC Sports Club Ground here today. Batting first, Surinder Cricket Club set a formidable target, scoring 177 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Puneet Wattal and Nittu were standout performers, contributing 78 and 44 runs, respectively, while Provin added a useful 23 runs to the total.
In response, Sharda Cricket Club struggled to chase the target and finished their innings at 129 runs for eight wickets. Sandeep Raina was the top scorer for Sharda, making 33 runs. On the bowling front, Vikas Dhar and Nittu excelled, claiming three and two wickets, respectively.
Nittu’s impressive all-round performance earned him the Man of the Match award. Other accolades included Aky Bhan as Man of the Series, Puneet Wattal as Best Batsman, Sanjay Koul as Best Bowler, and Saksham Koul as the Emerging Player of the Tournament.
The tournament was organized by Sanjeev Kant Sharma, Anil Ambardar, and Sanjay Koul in association with KC Sports Club Jammu. Dignitaries, including Kuldeep Singh Jamwal and P.N. Tickoo, graced the occasion.
