JAMMU, Jan 30: Sunil Sharma’s power-packed knock of 79 runs helped PG Arts, University of Jammu to drub PG Law and Sciences by a big margin of 70 runs to lift the title trophy of the Inter-Collegiate Cricket Tournament, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, here.
Earlier, put into bat, PG Arts powered by a brilliant knock of 79 runs by Sunil Sharma scored a decent total of 183 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Sunil made 79 off just 54 balls, which included 8 boundaries and 2 sixes, while Taqdir Singh, Chander Kiran and Rahul Sharma contributed 31, 28 and 19 runs to the total respectively. For PG Law, Rahul Bandral and Gokul took 2 wickets each, while Ajay claimed one wicket.
In reply, PG Law and Sciences bundled out for a paltry total of 113 runs in 18.3 overs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 70 runs. Gokul was the top scorer with 33 runs including 2 fours, while Sheroz and Rahul Bandral contributed 21 and 18 runs to the total respectively. Dilawar Singh and Sunil Dutt bagged 2 wickets each, while Amit and Sukhwinder claimed one wicket each.
The match was officiated by Raman Kumar and Saleem-ur-Rehman as umpires, while Manu Khajuria maintained the scorebook.
