JAMMU, Feb 5: Sukhnandan Choudhary, MLA visited Doon International School Jammu, today to be a part of Tree Plantation Drive in order to promote awareness among the children about degradation of environment due to illegal deforestation and ignorance about the impact of global warming.
After planting a few trees in the school premises he advised children not only to take care of Mother Nature by planting trees but also take care of their health by improving eating habits. He emphasised on eating seasonal fruits and vegetables rather than junk food temptations.
He appreciated the efforts of the Chairman G N Tantray and the Principal Vikesh Kaur for promoting such events in the school and sensitizing the students towards their environment as well as health.
The students presented a short and vibrant cultural programme which comprised of songs and dance dedicated to Mother Earth.
Also present at the occasion were Ashwani Sharma, and other dignitaries.
The whole event was organized by Gurdeep Kaur and Priyanka Singh.
