JAMMU, Oct 4: Under the G20 and P20 summit, Parliamentary Research and Training Institute for Democracies (PRIDE), Lok Sabha Secretariat and Parliament of India organized “Know Your Leader” programme in which Sugandha Gupta from Government College of Women Parade Ground, Jammu participated at the Samvidhan Sadan, Parliament House Complex, New Delhi.
25 students from across the nation were selected by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) for a three tier declamation contest on “Life lessons and Legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri in Amrit Kaal” at district level, UT level and National level in which Sugandha Gupta was the only student selected from the UT of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
They visited the Lok Sabha of New Parliament House and Rajya Sabha and Central Hall of Old Parliament House where they participated in a function in honour of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri and were addressed by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. After a while, they were taken to Raj Ghat, Rashtriya Swachhata Kendra and National War Memorial to get more knowledge about the contributions of National Icons.
