JAMMU, Dec 4: Stephens International Public School, Miran Sahib celebrated its 10th Annual Day amidst an impressive cultural extravaganza at the Zorawar Singh Auditorium here at Jammu University.
The audience was enthralled by the rich spectrum of the show that included traditional, folk, contemporary as well as western music and dance performances. The participation was complete with kindergarten as well as senior students outdoing each other in their respective presentations.
The show began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries including the chief guest Choudhary Lal Singh, Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment.
A warm welcome was accorded to the invited guests by the Chairman of Stephens International Public School, Dr. Kamal Saini and Director, Satvinder Saini.
This was followed by the Ganesh Vandana which was conducted with great poise and finesse. The next item, Tandav Nritya, set the temperatures soaring and convinced the audience that they were in for an extraordinary afternoon.
Performances like Rajasthani Ghoomar dance, Dogri folk dance and fairy dance stood out with their mesmerizing movements and formations.
In one of the main attractions of the show a group of junior and senior students presented a meticulously choreographed musical enactment of the Ramayana – starting with the Sita Haran of Aaranya Kanda and culminating into the Sri Rama Pattabhishekam of the Yuddha Kanda. The cultural odyssey ended with an energetic Bhangra dance followed by National Anthem.
The Principal of the School, Shibu Matthew K. read out the school’s annual report highlighting the prominent achievements during the past academic year. The young achievers of the school were felicitated by Choudhary Lal Singh.
In his address as the chief guest, Choudhary Lal Singh acknowledged and appreciated the tremendous contribution the school is making to the education sector of the region. He also exhorted the parents to keep their children firmly rooted in culture, faith as well as sports and help the school in the overall grooming of their children.
