State tug of war teams selected

JAMMU, Jan 8: Jammu and Kashmir Tug of War Association has selected teams to represent the State in the 26th Senior Men National Championship and 11th Senior Men and Women Federation Cup to be held at Jhila Krida Sankkul, Nasik in Maharashtra from January 12 to January 16, 2014.
Selection trials were held at Unique Public Higher Secondary School Gadigarh, under the overall supervision of Association president, Hardeep Singh Anand. 60 players took part in the trials and 27 were select to represent the State.
Among others present during trials were Ravinder Singh Sasan, Jodh Singh Isher, Jasvir Singh and Ajay Peshin.
The team for 26th Senior National Men include Pawandeep Singh, Inderjeet, Rakesh, Rammy, Wasim Akram, Mohd Nasir, Sandeep, Manmeet Singh and Rahul Sharma, while Sunil Chakaria is accompanying the team as coach.
The team for 11th Senior Federation Cup Men include Mehal Puri, Narinder, Sanjeev, Showkat, Manzoor, Shakir Bashir, Manpreet Singh, Ajay Kumar, Shakir Ahmad, while Ajay Kumar is accompanying the team as coach and Ankush as manager.
Meanwhile, the team for 11th Senior Federation Cup Men and Women include Sapna, Sonia, Tanuja, Nuzhat Jan, Nisha, Happy Singh, Binder Singh, Kavit and Manoj Kumar, while Gaurav is accompanuing the team as coach.
Hardeep Singh Anand, president of the Association distributed kits sponsored by Hotel Asia among the players before their departure.
