JAMMU, Sept 6: J&K State Sub Junior Selection cum Championship, 2015 was held at Gandhi Bhawan, here today.
The event was organized by Amateur Karate Do Association of Jammu & Kashmir recognized by J&K State Sports Council affiliated to Karate Association of India (KAI) recognized by Govt. of India.
Over 100 participants drawn from Jammu, Rajouri, Kathua and Sunderbani participated in the Camp.
MLA Sat Sharma was the chief guest on the closing ceremony of the Championship while Shiv Kumar Sharma, Joint Secretary, J&K State Sports Council, Anil Gupta, chairman AKAJK, Dr Goutam Mengi and president Gandhi Bhawan were the guests who presided over the function and Rehana Javed was the guest of honour.
The tournament was conducted under the technical supervision of Susheel Colvin (III Dan Black Belt, WKF & Asian (AKF) Player, Athlete Commission Karate Association of India (KAI) from Delhi.
The other officials and coaches who conducted the bouts were Amit Sangra (III Dan Black Belt), Inspector J&K Police; Brijesh Bhau; Umesh Rekhi; Suraj Prakash; Rinku Sharma; Charan Singh; Tarun Sharma; Rajesh Banal; Mujahid Mir, Dr. Gulam Mustafa Mir, Mr Gopal, Mr Rakesh, Mr. Gursharan, Tushar Jandial, Bilal Javed, Ashwani Kumar, Deepika Chauahan and Aarusha Sharma.
Votes of thanks was presented by Ambedkar Gupta, President, AKAJK.
The gold medal winners in various categories included Devesh Mahajan, Anjali Sharma, Aninsham, Kajal Yadav, Mohd Maushad, Himanshi Yadav, Simran, Remanshi Raina, Tanvoor Kour, Nitika Yadav, Stanzin Angmo, Priya Devi, Garima Yadav, Mohd Sourab Alam, Sahil Choudhary, Suryansh, Arindham, Sudixit, Anjan Chopra, Shaswat Saproo, Harsh Suthar, Abhikshit Mahajan, Kanaiya and Abhiraj Singh.
