Stadium XI blanks Power House Club to lift title

POONCH, Feb 11: The eves of Stadium XI defeated their counterparts in Power House Hockey Club by three goals to nil (3-0) to lift the title trophy of the Poonch District Girls Hockey Championship, which concluded at Sports Stadium, here today.
The Championship was organized by Hockey Poonch, under the banner of Hockey J&K, under the overall supervision of Sham Lal Sharma, SAI hockey coach.
Earlier, the Stadium XI players attacked their rivals from the word go and managed to score their first goal through Manpreet Kour in 15th minute of the match. Then, Meenakshi pelted back to back goals in 25th and 40th minute of the match to give her side a decisive lead and Stadium XI finally won by (3-0).
Makhan Lal Sharma, Principal, Boys Higher Secondary School Poonch was the chief guest on the occasion, while Nasir Charak, Zonal Physical Education Officer, Poonch was the guest of honour.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Dr Jeevan Lal Kapoor, president Hockey Poonch, Nirdosh Kumar, manager Sports Stadium Poonch, Prem Parkash, Salra Devi, Narjeet Singh and Ravinder Singh.
The match was officiated by national hockey players Talvinder Pal Singh and Sawal Ahmed.
