JAMMU, July 9: St Mary’s Church Gandhi Nagar drubbed Bethel Church. Batting first St Mary’s Church Gandhi Nagar scored 127 runs in allotted 12 overs. Sunny was the main scorer who scored 50 runs and hit 5 sixes in his inning, while Rajesh was the other batsman who contributed 42 runs including 5 sixes.
For Bethel Church, Lawrence and Samson took three wickets each. Chasing the target of 127 runs, Bethel Church tried to chased the target but lost all the wickets in just 82 runs thus lost the match by 45 runs. Rahul and Deepak were the main scorers who scored 19 and 14 runs , rest no other batsman reach in the double figure. For St. Mary’s Church team, Boby, Nitu and Rajesh took 3,3, & 2 wickets respectively .Man of the match was awarded to Rajesh for his all round performance.
In the second match, Pentecostal Church drubbed St.Peter’ Catholic Church-B. Batting first Catholic Church-B team scored 110 runs for 6 wikts in the allotted 12 overs game. Neelu and Sameer were the main scorers who scored 42 and 15 runs for the team. For Pentecostal Church team, Sunny ,Asif and Dannis were the bowler who took 2,2,1 wickets respectively. In reply, Pentecostal Church team Chased the target in 8.3 overs for the loss of 1 wicket. Rohan was the main scorer who made 74 runs with 11 sixes and 4 fours and Nitish also made 34 runs with 5 sixes for his team. Man of the match was awarded to Rohan of Pentecostal Church.
The match was officiated by Rakul , Nitu & Amit as umpires, while Sanjay Bhatti acted as scorer.
The tournament is being organized by Christian Sports Org, J&k whereas David Mattoo and Victor Sotra are the organizing secretaries of the tournament and the tournament is organized under the overall supervision of Sh. Rajesh Gill, President of Christian Sports Organization J&K.
