JAMMU, June 3: SSP Jammu, Dr Sunil Gupta inaugurated the Simula T20 Super League in an impressive and well attended function at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here today.
Jammu Cricket Club, Luxmi Cricket Club & Simula Cricket Club registered emphatic wins over their rivals on the inaugural day.
The Super Cricket league in which ten premier teams namely JCC, NCC, Simula, RCC Srinagar, Shastri, J&K Sports Promoters Club, KCCC, KC Sports Club, Singh Club and Luxmi CC are participating is being organized by Simula Global Group of Companies and Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association and supported by JK Channel. The organizing committee is headed by Hilal Rather MD Simula Group, while the committee members include Desh Rattan Dubey, Joint Secretary JKCA; Ankush Abrol, Working Committee Member JKCA and Rajesh Dhar, Chairman Media Committee JKCA, besides members from Simula Group namely Anshuman Sharma, Mohit Puri, Atul, Vivek Thapa, Vikram Singh, Shashi, Beant Singh and Vishal, whereas Rajesh Gill, Former Ranji Trophy Player is the Coordinator.
The objective of the league is to provide quality cricket to cricketers and give chance to young cricketers to play with the Current Ranji trophy players.
In the inaugural function, Dr Sunil Gupta, SSP Jammu  was the Chief Guest whereas Desh Rattan Dubey was the Guest of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest lavished praise for Simula Group for organizing cricket extravaganza at the time when almost all the current Ranji Trophy players of Jammu are participating.
He also appreciated the participating players for their dedication and devotion in honing cricket skills in sweltering heat.
Quoting message “khelo Khel Bhulo Nasha, Dr Gupta advised the cricketers never use drugs and stay healthy.
Earlier, in the first match, JCC defeated KC Sports Club  by  5 wickets.
Batting first, KC Sports Club scored a paltry total of 72 runs in 17 overs, with Yodhamanyu (16), Sumit (14) and Vivek (11) being the main scorers. From JCC, Deepak Dogra took 4 wickets, Rahil Singh, Yudhveer and Vivrant shared 2 wickets each.
JCC, in reply achieved the target in 14 overs for the loss of 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Surya (31), Vishavjeet Singh (14) and Paras Sharma (12) were the main scorers.
From KC Sports Club, Vishal took 2 wickets, Aman, Vivek and Musa claimed 1 wicket each. Deepak Dogra was adjudged as the man of the match and was presented a cash prize of Rs.1000-.
In second match, Laxmi CC defeated NCC by 2  wickets.
Batting first, NCC scored 138 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs, with Sahil Bhalwal (39), Rakesh (29) and Ankush (18) being the main scorers.
From bowling side, Bansi Lal took 4 wickets, Monu bagged 2 wickets, while Yogesh, Santbaksh and Sameer took 1 wicket each.
Laxmi CC, in reply achieved the target and made 139 runs in 19.5 overs for the loss of 8 wickets to win the match by 3 wickets. Bansi Lal  (22), Dhruv Mahajan (18) and Rhythem (17) were the main scorers.
From NCC, Deepak and Sahil shared 3 wickets each, while Vijay and Tanmaya claimed 1 wicket each. Bansi lal was adjudged man of the match and was awarded Rs 1000.
In another match, Simula Club defeated Shastri CC  by a narrow margin of 12 runs.
Batting first, Simula Club scored 134 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Shashi (35) Atul and Puneet (23 each) and Hardeep (14) being the main scorers.
From bowling side, Anchal took 3 wickets, Sawan, Vicky and Sachin claimed 1 wicket each.
Shastri, in reply made 122 runs in 17 overs for the loss of 5 wickets to lose the match by 12 runs. Vishal top scored with 57 runs, while Chander scored 36 and Sachin chipped in with 15 runs.
From bowling side, Hilal Rather and Manzoor Dar took 2 wickets each, while Raman claimed 1 wicket. Shashi was adjudged as man of the match and awarded with Rs 1000.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain, Saleem-Ur-Rehman, Madan Mohan, Sandeep and Vinod Kandayara.
