Srinagar Ball Badminton C’ship begins

SRINAGAR, Dec 14: The My Youth My Pride District Srinagar Ball Badminton Championship 2025-26 for boys and girls commenced at Gindun Sports Stadium, Raj Bagh, here today. Organized by the District Srinagar Ball Badminton Association in collaboration with the J&K Ball Badminton Association and sponsored by the J&K Sports Council, the two-day championship aims to promote grassroots sports and identify emerging talent.
Around 120 players participated in opening-day matches across boys and girls categories, showcasing strong skills, discipline and competitive spirit. The opening ceremony was attended by the General Secretary and Vice President of the J&K Ball Badminton Association, executive members and officials from the district association.
The championship provides a platform for players to enhance performance and gain exposure for higher-level competitions. Organizers ensured proper arrangements for officiating, safety and fair play. The event will conclude on December 15 with a closing and felicitation ceremony and selected players may advance to future district and UT-level competitions.
