GULMARG, July 7: A two-day Referee seminar in the indigenous martial art of Sqay, organized by Jammu and Kashmir Sqay Association, concluded today in the scenic town of Gulmarg. The seminar aimed to enhance the technical knowledge and officiating skills of referees from across the Union Territory.
Participants received in-depth training on Sqay rules, regulations and officiating techniques under the guidance of experienced instructors. The seminar served as a vital platform to standardize refereeing practices and promote fair play in future competitions.
Adil Bashir Bhat, President of the Jammu and Kashmir Sqay Association, expressed satisfaction with the outcome, highlighting it as a key step toward the sport’s professional development in the region. The seminar concluded with a special ceremony graced by Grandmaster Mir Nazir, who commended the association’s efforts in promoting traditional martial arts and nurturing local talent.
