JAMMU, Sept 23: The trials of the J&K Sports Council State Football Academy which commenced at MA Stadium here to select the probable for admission to the State Football Academy received overwhelming response with around 200 players turning up for the trials.
Vice Chairman District Jammu Sports Council, Ranjeet Kalra gave brief report of the Sports Academies in J&K.
The Academies were inaugurated by Sports Minister, Imran Reza Ansari in Srinagar this summer.
The selection trials in Jammu are being held to select around twenty probable each in the age group of under-13, Under-15 and under-18 years.
The trials are being held under the watchful eyes of Council Member and ace footballer Arun Malhotra, Sajid Yousuf, (Technical Director of SFA and Coach of the Indian Women’s Football team) and Council coach Sat Pal Singh.
The trials will continue on Sunday as well.
It is pertinent to mention here that the SFA is functioning under the leadership of celebrated footballer of the country, Mehraj-Ud-Din Wadoo and supported by International Footballer Arun Malhotra.
The selected players will be trained under expert eyes of eminent footballers and coaches.
