SPMR College holds Inter-College Taekwondo C’ship

JAMMU, Feb 17: Government SPMR College of Commerce hosted the Inter-College Taekwondo Tournament, drawing talented athletes from across the region to showcase their skill and competitive spirit. Prof (Dr) Sunil Gupta, Principal of the college, was the chief guest, while Vinod Bakshi, Physical Director of Cluster University of Jammu, attended as guest of honour.
The event was organized under the supervision of Ravi Kumar, Physical Director of SPMR College, and compered by Prof Shaji Khan. In the boys’ category, the host college clinched the overall trophy with 32 points. GGM Science College secured second place with 22 points, followed by MAM College with 20 points. In the girls’ category, GCW Gandhi Nagar emerged victorious with 21 points, while SPMR College finished runner-up with 15 points.
The success of the tournament was made possible by the dedicated efforts of a panel of qualified officials, including Karan Chopra, Robin Gill, Neha Sharma, Bhanu Pratap Atri and Komal Dhiman. The occasion was also attended by several prominent figures in the sports community, including Dr Chetna Gupta, Convener of the Sports Committee, Kajal Premi, Physical Director of PSPS GCW Gandhi Nagar, Asst. PTI Neelam Chalotra, Prof Arti from GGM Science College and Dr Mohd Azam.
