JAMMU, Feb 3: Young spinner Pavit Singh Ishar took 3/9 in his 3 overs to help Ishar Cricket Club drub Patiala Cricket Club by 34 runs in a low scoring match and qualify for the semifinals of the 2nd Anti Drug Cricket Tournament, being held at Red Rose Cricket Club, Arnia, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Ishar Cricket Club bundled out for a paltry total of 93 runs in 18.3 overs. Irshad was the top scorer with 40 runs off 43 balls, while Gurtej Singh was the only other batsman to cross the double figures with 10 runs. Rahul was the pick of the bowlers from Patiala Club, who scalped 6 wickets, while Gagan claimed 2 wickets.
Patiala Club, in reply collapsed at 59 runs in 14.2 overs, thus lost the match by 34 runs. Rahul (15) and Sunny (14) were the main scorers. For Ishar Club, Pavit Singh Ishar, Bandeep Singh and Sourav Chopra claimed 3 wickets each. Pavit was the most economical of the three, giving away just 9 runs in his 3 overs, which fetched him man of the match award.
The match was officiated by Narinder and Sonu as umpires, while Lucky maintained the scorebook.
