SOS, Khudabaksh School register wins in U-14 Badminton; Ramnagar lifts U-17 Volleyball title

JAMMU, June 1: Inter School and Zone Level Competitions, being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports held at different venues.
JAMMU: Inter School District Level Competitions in the disciplines of Badminton, Carom, Table-Tennis and Chess for under-14 and 17 boys gets underway at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium here.
In under-14 Badminton (boys), SOS beat GMS Amb by 2-0 sets, APS Kaluchack smashed BSF Paloura by 2-0 sets and Khudabaksh School defeated HS Kaluchack by 2-0 sets.
In under-17 Badminton (boys), KC Public School beat St Xavier Barnai by 2-1 sets and Heritage School crushed Khudabaksh by straight 2-0 sets.
In under-17 Chess (2nd round boys), Shashwat of KV Sunjwan beat Aditya of MVM, Tarun of APS Domana smashed Sidhaarth of St. Xavier Barnai, Shivam of APS Nagrota registered win over Harsh of KC International, Navdeep of DPS beat Arun of Maharishi Vidya Mandir (MVM), Jaiveer of DPS crushed Davain of KC International, Harshveer of DPS beat Shivam of MIER, Harshit of KC International defeated Manveer of APS Domana and Akashdeep of KC International beat Nikhil of SOS.
In under-14 Carrom (boys), SOS bagged first position, while GMS Narwal Pain remained runner-up, whereas in under-17 category, KB Public School emerged winner, while GHS Gho Manhasa secured runner-up position.
In under-14 Table Tennis (boys), Jodhamal Public School registered win over KC International and secured berth in final.
SAMBA: Inter Zone District level Athletic Tournament for under-14 and 17 boys held here.
In under-14 category, Shubam Singh of Samba Zone secured first position in 100 meters, whereas in 200 meters, Rahul Singh of Samba Zone clinched first position, in 400-meters, Shubam Singh of Samba Zone secured first position and in 800 meters, Rahul Singh of Samba Zone clinched first position. In Long Jump, Aman Jangral of Vijaypur Zone emerged winner, in High Jump, Sahil Sharma of Vijaypur Zone secured first position, in Discuss Throw, Ajay Singh of Samba Zone emerged winner and in Shot Put, Vikas Choudhary of Vijaypur Zone bagged first rank.
In under-17 category, Monu Kumar of Samba Zone clinched first position in 100 meters, whereas in 200 meters, Tarun Sharma of Samba Zone clinched first rank, in 400 meters, Rahul Kumar of Samba Zone bagged first position, in 800 meters, Pankaj Singh of Samba Zone bagged first position and in 1500 meters, Ravi Sharma of Samba Zone secured first position. In Long Jump, Handil Aziz of Purmandal Zone bagged first position, in High Jump, Rahul Kumar of Samba Zone clinched first position, in Triple Jump, Ramandeep Singh of Purmandal Zone bagged first position, in Discuss Throw, Saddam Hussain of Ramgarh Zone secured first position, in Shot Put, Vijay Sagar of Samba Zone clinched first position and in Javelin, Pankaj Singh of Samba Zone bagged first position.
REASI: District Level Inter School Tennis Ball Cricket tournament for under 17 boys commenced at General Zorawar Sports Stadium The inaugural match, Gurukul Public School lost to Bharatiya Vidya Mandir Reasi by 18 runs, whereas in the second match, Government High School Gran defeated Government Higher Secondary School Panthal by 9 wickets.
UDHAMPUR: District Level Inter Zonal Tournament for under-14 and 17 girls in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Volleyball and Kho-Kho concluded at Sports Stadium here.
In under-17 Volleyball, Ramnagar defeated Udhampur, whereas in under-14 Kabaddi, Majalta smashed Ghordi, in Under-17 Kabaddi, Majalta thrashed Panchari, in under-14 Kho-Kho, Chenani defeated  Udhampur and in under-17 Kho-Kho, Chenani thrashed Majalta by 4 points.

In Kabaddi (boys), Army Goodwill Public School and GHS Gurdan Baln emerged winner and runner-up respectively, whereas in Kho-Kho, Army Goodwill Public School emerged winner while International HSS Rajouri remained runner-up. In Volleyball, Army Goodwill Public School emerged winner, while GBHSS Darhal bagged runner-up position.
In Kabaddi (girls), GGHS jawahar Nagar and GHS Thandi Kassi bagged winner and runner-up ranks, while in Kho-Kho, Army Goodwill Public School emerged winner and GGHS Jawahar Nagar remained runner-up. In Volleyball, Army Good will Public School and GGHS Jawahar Nagar secured winner and runner-up positions.
