KATRA, Oct 7: Week-long Inter-Hostel Basketball Men’s Tournament concluded at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), here today.
The event witnessed a close fight from both the finalists, out of 6 teams that participated enthusiastically in the event. The league matches had begun from the month of September.
Vindhyanchal Hostel team skippered by Kartik Sharma defeated Trikuta Hostel team captained by Shivankit Andotra in a neck-to-neck final match, with a score of 49-48. Rohit Malik scored the highest number of baskets.
The students performed splendidly and proved themselves while showing their best and were honoured for their skills.
Ashok Kumar, Director Sports, SMVDSB and Rajiv Kumar, In-charge Sports, SMVDU, graced the occasion with their presence. All the matches of the tournament were officiated by Sports Coach Sucha Singh and Sumit Sharma.
