AKHNOOR, Jan 17: Singh Cricket Club defeated Hawk Cricket Club Khour by a narrow margin of 17 runs in a high scoring match to seal berth in the finals of the New Year Cricket Cup at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here today.
Batting first, Singh Club scored 187 runs in 20 overs. Chandan top scored with 72 runs, while Shanty contributed valuable 50 runs to the total. Kaalu and Titto claimed 2 wickets each for Hawk Cricket Club, while Arvind took one wicket.
In reply, Hawk Cricket Club, managed to score 170 runs in 19.4 overs, thus lostthe match by 17 runs. Kanny played a magnificent innings of 87 runs, while Billa contributed 32 runs to the total. Binny and SSL bagged 3 wickets each for Singh Cricket Club, while Sunny claimed 2 wickets. Pankaj and Gourav also claimed one wicket each.
