JAMMU, Sept 19: On the second day of ongoing Inter-Collegiate/Departmental ‘Display Your Talent 2012-13’, Flower Arrangement and Collage Making Competitions were organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, here.
Lida Singh, paid a special visit to the spot to boost the morale of the young participants. She distributed the prizes and certificates among the participants of Flower Arrangement competition, while Prof Jasbir Singh, Chairman, Campus Cultural Committee, gave away the prizes to the winners of Collage Making contest.
In Flower Arrangement, Shivangi Chibber of Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, was adjudged first, while Surbhi Sharma of Govt Degree College, Kathua and Rahul Kumar from Govt Degree College, Reasi bagged the second and third prize respectively.
The certificates of merit were awarded to Mobeen Sayeed of the Department of Political Science, University of Jammu, Jyoti Chandan of Govt Degree College, Reasi and Simran Gupta of Govt College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu.
Dr Raj Kumar Sharma, RK Bhan and Dr Sanjay Sharma, were the adjudicators.
Dr Madhulika Bhagat, was the teacher in-charge for the Flower Arrangement while Dr Virender Koundel was the teacher incharge for the Collage Making Competition and made the participants conversant with the rules and regulations.
Meanwhile, in Collage, Rigzin Paljor of Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Jammu bagged the first place, while Rimpla Kumari of Department of Commerce, University of Jammu and Jasneet Kour of Govt College for Women, Parade were adjudged as second and third respectively.
The Certificates of Merit were awarded to Nitasha Choudhary of Govt Degree College, R S Pura, Komal Sadotra of Institute of Music and Fine Arts and Meghna Sharma of Govt Degree College, Kathua.
The topics for the Collage Making were ‘Life on the Street’, ‘Cinema’ and ‘Portrait’.
Bhushan Kesar, Suman Gupta and Manoj Chopra were the experts for the Collage Making contest.
Prof NK Tripathi, Dean Students Welfare, Prof Neeru Sharma, Co-Chairperson Campus Cultural Committee, Nidhi Kaila, Divya Mahajan, Anshu Bala, Rahual Dev Singh, Ashish Attri, Vaibhav Sharma, Nitan Sharma, Sandeep Kumar, Sonia Manhas and Savita Devi, were also present on this occasion.
