Shastri Club, Simula win league matches

JAMMU, Feb 1: Shastri Cricket Club and Simula Cricket Club crushed their rivals in league matches and entered into next stage of the ongoing tournament at KC Sports Club.
The first match was played between Shastri Cricket Club and Secretariat XI Cricket Club. Secretariat XI won the toss and elected to field first. Shastri Cricket Club set a target of 197 runs in 20 overs. Chander, Decker and Arvind of Shastri Cricket Club made 58, 32 and 29 runs respectively.
From Secretariat XI side, Asif and Ajaz took 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
In reply, Secretariat XI bundled out 117 runs. Majid, Altaf and Danish scored 26, 19 and 18 runs respectively.
From Shastri Cricket Club side, Vicky Raina, Mittu and Arvind took 4, 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
Chander of Shastri CC was declared as man of the match.
The second match was played between Simula Cricket Club and Wave Cricket Club.
Batting first after winning the toss, Simula scored 139 runs in 20 overs. Puneet, Javed and Atul scored 42, 29 and 25 runs respectively.
From Wave Club side, Sunny took 2 wickets, while Simranpreet and Charanjeet shared one wicket each.
While chasing the target, Wave Club bundled out at 123 runs. Rahul and Charanjeet made 29 and 21 runs respectively.
From Simula Club side, Vivek Thapa and Hilal Rather took 2 and 1 wickets respectively.
Puneet of Simula Cricket Club was declared as man of the match.
