Sham advises private institutions to focus on quality education

JAMMU, Feb 3: Senior Vice President JKPCC and former Minister Sham Lal Sharma advised the private educational institutions to focus on quality education besides promoting co-curricular activities.
He was speaking as chief guest during KG Graduation day ceremony function of Kids Planet High School, Akhnoor here today.
The guest of honour was Sanjay Kumar, Commandant 86 Bn BSF, while Director of School Mohan Lal Gupta and Chairperson Rohit Gupta were also present.
Sharma said “Education is defined as the understanding and interpretation of knowledge. It is the process of transmission of accumulated knowledge and imparting of quality of mind and character. In general it is the overall development of an individual. Educated people form a civilized society and contribute to the development of economy of a country. Quality education leads to making of quality citizens”.
“With India as a home to one of the largest networks of educational system in the world, we can hardly boast of any institutions achieving global standards as revealed by various surveys and studies. Government initiatives through establishment and operating of several central institutions of higher learning are nevertheless bearing fruits, but still a lot needs to be done for the average youth of this country who constitutes our main strength today”, Sharma maintained.
Describing the role of the teachers and parents in the life of children, he called upon all parents to help their wards to achieve better education and become good citizens of the country.
On the occasion, school children presented various colorful dance items, which were highly appreciated by the audience.
Sham Lal Sharma along with others also awarded the students with medals.
Principal of the School Mona Gupta presented the annual report 2015-16, showing the accolades and laurels notched by the students of the school for excellence in curricular, co-curricular activities and also read out the ambitious future plans of the school.
