Shahabad Hockey Academy clinches 5th Martyrs Memorial Hockey Title

JAMMU, Feb 14: The final of the 5th Edition Martyrs Memorial Hockey Tournament witnessed intense competition and exemplary sportsmanship at the iconic KK Haku Stadium, Jammu, as Shahabad Hockey Academy emerged victorious with a commanding 3-1 win over the Jammu and Kashmir Police Hockey Team. The victory earned Shahabad Hockey Academy the coveted championship trophy amid enthusiastic applause from spectators.
Organized under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) and patronized by the Director General of Police, J&K, with ADG Armed serving as the event’s Chairman, the tournament highlighted J&K Police’s commitment to community engagement and promotion of athletic excellence.
The event was graced by former DGP Kuldeep Khoda, who served as the chief guest, congratulating the winning team and commending both sides for their performance. Khoda emphasized the role of sports in fostering discipline, teamwork and camaraderie.
The prize distribution ceremony recognized outstanding performances with trophies, medals and a total cash prize of Rs 3.86 lakh, awarded to the winning team, runner-up, second runner-up, and players honoured as Man of the Match, Best Goalkeeper and Man of the Tournament.
Other distinguished attendees included Manish Sinha, ADG Hqrs (PHQ) J&K; Anand Jain, ADG Armed J&K; Nitish Kumar, ADG CID J&K; Bhim Sen Tuti, IGP Jammu Zone; Suleman Chowdhary, IGP Traffic J&K; Vivek Gupta, IGP Railways J&K, along with Deputy Inspectors General, Senior Superintendents of Police and Commandants of Jammu-based Battalions.
